About the role
As part of the expansion of our studio, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Rigging Artist to work alongside and support our Character and Animation Team on our current and incoming projects.
You will create / debug characters and prop rigs for various projects, and ensure smooth, believable character movements.
This is a remote freelancer position, with a possible lasting collaboration : we are looking for reliable and long-term partners to build a solid team that packs a punch!
Skills and requirements
– A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in game development, working on AAA titles
– Strong knowledge of relevant 3D software packages such as Maya / 3DSMax / Blender
– Good 3D modelling skills
– Extensive knowledge of rigging techniques, deformation systems, and character setup
– IK/FK blending, spline controls, expressions, animator-friendly control setups
– Facial rigging (Joint based & blendshapes)
– Good knowledge of Unreal 4 /5, clothes and dynamics system
– Passion for animation, organized, team player
– Strong portfolio showcasing complex character rigs
– Will collaborate with Character Art Lead & Animation Team in technical/aesthetic problem-solving efforts
– Comfortable receiving constructive group criticism and making artistic adjustments to meet performance guidelines
– Follow schedule and deliver assets on time
Pluses
– Experience with MotionBuilder
– Animation experience
– Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL) for tool and pipeline development
– Experience with motion capture and real-time animation workflows
– Comfortable with written and spoken english
– French speaking is a serious plus
